Creating Your Blogger Profile For the First Time: Instructions


Don't worry if you have never blogged before; you will find detailed step-by-step instructions below. And don't be nervous; I think you will be surprised when you find out how easy it is to use a blog. It's basically like email, but a lot more fun. :-)If you are wondering where do I start?

Once you have completed setting up your blog based on my instructions (using above mentioned link), come back to here to this page for more instructions on how to share your Blog-homepage link with your professor and with your peers.

So, now that you have a blog step-up, you have just one more task to complete for this assignment: Share the link with me and others in your class (for viewing and commenting). Follow these two steps:

Step 1: Email me your blog-URL. Please SEND ME AN EMAIL (prisroseselvaraj@gmail.com) with your blog address, and use this subject line for the email: Class Blog Address. In the email, let me know if you have done any blogging before for school or otherwise, and also let me know if you have any questions as you get started with this blog adventure. Even if you are just curious about something, please ask! The more questions you ask, the more you will learn... and that will also help me to improve these instructions for the other students.

When you click on the blog’s name appearing on the top (in my case, “dr.pris’s blog”), it will take you to a page where you can just copy the URL on the top. It will look something like this- http://drprispsychology.blogspot.com. This will be your blog name.

Once I receive your blog-address, I will link it to your name in the “Blog Homepage Directory” in Canvas within the Pre-Module: Week-0 section.

Step 2: Add the blog-URL to Google Drive form. Kindly add information in the Google drive form that solicits your blog address and other contact info. This is another way to reach your peers’ blogs.
Blogger Profile Set-Up Checklist
  • Created blog. I created a blog for this class with name similar to “Prisy’s Blog”
  • Configured Comments. I have configured the blog for comments, and I chose an email address so that I will be notified about new comments.
  • Time zone setting. I have adjusted the time zone setting.
  • Email. I have sent the instructor an email (prisroseselvaraj@gmail.com) with my blog address.
  • Google Drive. I have uploaded my blog-URL info in the google drive excel form in addition to my basic info.
